Mrs Wonka Does The Triple..........

Well I have really gone for it today.......I have made 2 cards which cover 3 challenges. Both of the cards are for the Penny Black Challenge, they are looking for a new DT member and as Penny Black stamps are my fave then I had to have a double bash at it! (I am under no illusion that I will bag the place but you have to be in it to win it!) The first card is for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge we had to use this sketch for inspiration: I was really excited because I got to use my new release Doodlebug Halloween papers.......

I have used my "Dressed to Scare" image that was lovingly stamped for me by Treacle.... and my yummy glitter stripe & argyle Halloween paper from Doodlebug. The big spider is a really old Halloween embellishment made by Paperbliss that I have had in my stash for 567 years and the flowers are all Primas secured with a black sugarcoated brad. The spiders and the webs are from the coolest Halloween peel offs ever! I think they are by Woodware. Finally the greeting was created using Doodlebug & American Crafts rub on letters.

The next card is for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge blog, it was to do a Halloween card following this sketch for inspiration:I have gone for a more contemporary card this time using my new KI Memories Halloween papers. (I must apologise for the pic, the light was so bad this afternoon.)

I know I have said this before but I really wish that my camera had a glitter function as you can't see the glitter on this "Witchy Mouse" image at all! I have added a QK scroll and scallop edge (using my SU scallop border punch) and wide stitched ribbon to create this far more simple card.

Finally I hope you all have a Spookytastic Halloween tomorrow and thanks for stopping by my blog.

I'm A Winner.............OMG How Exciting!

I have just had a little message saying that I was this weeks winner of the Lily Of The Valley challenge. I have won some super smashing great Miki & Kimi die cuts as well as backing papers and greetings! So here's a thank you Mrs Wonka style!

Would you Adam & Eve it.......2 Awards!!!!!

I just wanted to thank the super talented super funny Tab for sending me 2 awards today! How lucky am I? I think I am supposed to pass them on but everyone is soooooooooooo busy so I am going to pass them on to my followers. Thanks everyone for all the great comments I receive, I love getting them and really appreciate them.

Cupcake Creation "For Sketch Saturday" Sketch

This is my entry into the Sketch Saturday Challenge. It was to used this sketch as a starting point and for inspiration:I decided to use another Cupcake stamp from the SU (Stampin Up) Cupcake set. The card is actually MUCH brighter in real life, I might have to take another pic later. I have gone a bit SU crazy today as I went to a SU party last night and it really gets your mojo going......and also reminds me how lovely and supportive my crafting buddies are......... You can always visit my SU demonstrator if you have any questions, want a party or just need some stash! You can find Natalie here......she doesn't bite......unless you keep her up all night snoring.......but that's another story! Don't forget to tell her I sent ya! I have used the Bold Brights from the SU set and have layered the image as per the sketch. I have then added some white doodling which was done using a white jelly glaze pen. The cupcake was coloured using SU water colour crayons (are you guessing a bit of a theme here! LOL) and the sprinkles were highlighted with Doodlebug Limeade and Swimming Pool glitter.I then added a couple of gems and some dotty ribbon. I finished it all off with my dotty and white bow.

Basic Grey Wassail Card For BG Challenge......

I got some of the new Basic Grey Wassail paper this weekend and I was so excited to play with it.....you know when you see something and instantly know what you are going to do with it......(this doesn't happen to often with me!) well this was one of these instances! It also falls into this weeks Basic Grey Challenge which is a double bonus! This was the challenge:"This week we would like you to get shapely by using squares, circles, rhomboids, triangles, etc on your creations :), and of course to use at least one item from Basic Grey somewhere on your creations." I have used Wassail "Tree Lot" & "Falling Snow" papers & a BG Christmas rub on. I have cut the triangle trees out of the tree lot paper and used them as trees, adding little trunks with the reverse of the paper. I then matted this onto green Bazzill then onto the "Falling Snow" paper. I then doodled and dotted and applied to my brown Bazzil card blank. I then made a little tab using the BG rub ons and added it to the bottom right of my image panel. I love the sentiment because it is sooooooooo true!

I finished of by adding some black organza ribbon along the bottom and some old buttons from my stash. I must admit to them going and adding just a little crystal glitter to the trees, which ads just an ickle bit of bling!

The are double sided with the stars on one side and the red circles on the other. I have cut out the stars using my craft knife and added them along the edge of the diagonal card.
Finally I added a little red star to the greeting and glitter dots to the centres of the red circles.

Poetic Artistry Monday Mojo & Lili Of The Valley Challenges

Another doubler for me today, there are so many challenges and so little time so I seem to be into the habit of doubling up at the mo. The challenge at Poetic Artistry was to take inspiration from the following sketch: Lili of the Valley challenge was to use Red, Green and Gold, these colours SHOUT Christmas to me so here is my card.I have used one of my LOTV fairy die cut but have coloured the dress olive green and added glitter to the wings. I have used BG Fruitcake papers and have highlighted the outside edge and holly edge with gold perfect pearl dots. The flourish is an American Crafts rub on as is the centre of the gold prima flower and the scroll line running across the centre. Finally I have added a Making Memories Christmas rub on greeting. Hope you likey.........thanks for looking.

Super Speedy Stamp Something Challenge

Just a quickie today, this is for the Stamp Something challenge, this weeks challenge was to follow the following sketch: This is my super simple pink and perky card:Both the cupcakes and greeting are from the Stampin Up Cupcake set. I have used some bubblegum stripe Doodlebug paper and hot pink cardstock. The picture isn't very good but the ribbon is red to match the cupcake Cherry's. Now I wouldn't normally put red with pink but this kinda works........ Finally I added some mini gems to the ribbon.

Cheeky Chappie and Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge

This weeks Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge is to make a card which complies to "Blue White & a little bit of snowflake!" Here is my card:
It's not really me and I'm not over the moon with it but it's always good to go outside the box a bit.........I have used my "xmouse ornament" Penny Black stamp and as usual have coloured it with my watercolour pencils. I have run the entire card blank through the Cuttlebug with the snowflake embossing folder and have gone over it with blue chalk ink. I then painted with the same colour ink to highlight the snowflake on the image. I then used a wide ribbon with a smaller bow. Finally I added LOTS of glitter (which you can't really see) to the background. In fact I wish my blog had glittervision as my cards would look much nicer if it did!!!!!
I must tell you about the visit I had from my nephew yesterday, he is cuter than cute and the cleverest child ever to walk the earth (do all aunties think this??? LOL) Firstly he decided that Arthur needed to sleep with all his toys........this is the result:
Poor old Arther, he is so chilled he really isn't bothered by it all. Olive isn't quite so sociable and done a runner as soon as he got here..........
Finally he asked me if he could take my camera to take a picture of Arthur in the conservatory......this is what I found when he asked me to show him what he had taken!

He told me "It's my funny trick Auntie, I tool my own photo, do you like it?" well who wouldn't.

Lili Of The Valley & Sketch Saturday Challenge

Another double whammy from Mrs Wonka today! This card if for Lili Of The Valley & Sketch Saturdays challenges. SSC was to interpret the following sketch:
and the LOTV challenge was called 321, this is what they say "We would like you to use 3 papers, 2 ribbons and 1 button or 1 brad on your creations this week" this is the first time I have done a 321 and wasn't sure if it meant that was all I was allowed to add, so my apologies if it looks a little plain.I have used a LOTV die cut reindeer (I trimmed round him so that no white edge could be seen) and Fruitcake Basic Grey papers. I have stamped the background using the scroll from the new Stampin Up Christmas set called "Season of Joy" you can see it here. This is the first time I have used it and I have fallen in love with it......I also used a stamp from the set for the snowflake circle. If you want to get the set then you can always contact Natalie here. I have inked the edges of all the elements and attached the ribbon tabs from behind. Finally I added a little peel off greeting. I only had gold so I had to colour it in using my new black Sharpie pen ( I closed my eyes and wished for David Beckham to appear but he didn't!).

Two in One.....Basic Grey & Friday Sketchers Challenges

This is my card for the above challenges. I was so pleased when I saw there was a Basic Grey Challenge blog, I went through a bit of a Basic Grey phase about 3 years ago and I have sooooooooo much of it to use! So hopefully this new blog will give me the kick up the bum to do something with it all! It is also for the Fridays Sketchers Challenge, this is the sketch to interpret:Here is my attempt at the sketch also incorporating a Basic Grey product and some stitching for the BG challenge.

I have used the Penny Black "Bee Costume" stamp and Basic Grey Oh Baby! Boy Zachary paper. I have cut the circle using my creative memories circle cutter and have inked the edges (i know it did hurt me a little!). I then stitched along the edges of the black panel and attached to the circle. The image was matted onto black and then centred in the circle. I have used punches to make the little circle embellishments and finished them off with a Doodlebug sugarcoated brad and a bit of ink. The bottom circle has been highlighted with an American Crafts dotted circle rub on and Doodlebug mini rub ons for the name, finally I used a few more of the Doodlebug mini rub on letters for the greeting.

Quick and Simple Penny Black ATC Challenge....

I have been AWOL from the challenges for some time now so thought I would make a bit of an effort this week. This week the challenge was to make an ATC, I used to do quite a few ATC swaps but haven't done one for ages so I really enjoyed this challenge, if anyone wants to trade this one then let me know........ You can find the challenge here:
I have used a stamp from the Bubbly clear stamp set and coloured it in using my water colour pencils. I have matted the image onto red Bazzill and placed it onto a Doodlebug bloom. I have drawn a red doodle line around the edge of the white section and matted it all onto the red ATC base. I added the word friends with my Doodlebug rub on's and added a red Doodlebug button to the bottom right and have added some gems as well. As you can see this is super simple but I'm quite pleased with it.

Don't Panic!!!! I'm still alive......just!

Hi all, so sorry that I haven't posted for a week, I have a lot going on in real life, I am struggling with an ongoing medical condition and I have also been trying to work on a commission for Papercraft Essentials which I will share with you soon!
I thought you would like to see this:
It is the front cover to a little brag book that I made a couple of weeks ago for my cousins wife who is really unwell at the moment. It is only 6x6 so I thought this would slip into her hospital bag really easily! It is full of pictures of her DD and DH and she was over the moon with it!
The base of it is a Lisa Bearnson accordion card, I have only used the papers and a couple of the supplied embellishments and have added lots of my own. It has been altered beyond recognition from the original kit but the kit was a good starting point!
I hope you likey, I will try harder to get back into blogville!

Sketch Saturday Challenge.....Gone Fishing!

This is this weeks Saturday Sketchers Challenge . This is the sketch that we have been given to work with.and here is my interpretation: I have had this stamp for a few weeks now and have been itching to use it! It is a Penny Black stamp called "Fish are jumpin" I have matted it onto turquoise Stampin Up bright paper and then created my background with this and lime Bazzill. The greeting is Pebbles Inc and the ribbon is from Arthur's stash! Finally I have added dots of glitter around the green panel and on the stamped image. I LOVE GLITTER!!!!!!!!!!!

Tinkerbell Tag I'm It...........

Thanks Liza for the tag you can see her fab blog here ! Now I have to write seven random or weird things about me, so here goes:

1, I was once the jingle girl on the local hospitals radio station

2, I watch charlie and the chocolate factory almost weekly

3, I talk in my sleep BADLY and once told hubby all his Christmas Prezzies.

4, I have never been to a concert

5, I once auditioned to go on supermarket sweep! (I didn't get through!)

6, I love Marmite, cheese and chicken sandwiches

7, I named my cat Olive as she looked like she had glasses on like Olive from on the buses so therefore had to call her brother Arthur! Great idea until you have to call them in at night!!!!

I now have to tag this to 7 people but I am going to tag it to all the people that visit my blog, so feel free to tag away.

First Ever Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge

There's a new challenge in town...It's called Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and can be found here. The first challenge was to use this sketch: I have decided to take the circle and use it as an aperture, here is the card laid down:
and here it is standing up:
I have used "Tulip Jungle" Penny Black stamp with pink and green Bazzill card stock. I have mounted the image onto a pink scallop (cut with my nesties) and secured to the inside of my card.I have then doodled around the card and added a Hero Arts greeting onto another nestie scallop. The flowers are from Prima and the centres are PM adhesive gems.
Finally my little Olive decided to get her own breakfast this morning, I was in bed and heard a couple of crashes???? I went downstairs and this is what I found.....she even sat there whilst I got the camera from my bag! The pouch and biscuits were on a little shelf above where they eat and she had knocked them into her bowl....bless her! She does look a little caught out doesn't she......

Friday Sketchers Challenge.....All Stitched Up!

This is my effort for the Friday Sketchers Challenge , you ought to pop over and check them out as they have some great cards by the design team. The challenge was to use the following sketch for inspiration:

I have gone outside my box a little for this one, so hope you like it:

I have used a penny black stamp (how unusual!) and used gems on the collar and glitter on the butterfly and flowers. I have then sewn ribbons onto pink Bazzill to form the background. Finally I embellished the ribbons with a mixture of safety pins, ball head pins and bows.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

I do love to compete in challenges but I think being a huge Penny Black fan means that I enjoy their challenges the most. This weeks Penny Black challenge is to work from the following sketch: Here is my interpretation of it:

My apologies for using this Penny Black "Royal Mail" stamp again so soon, it is new and I love it!! (Her Majesty will be pleased though as the box is now it's rightful red!)I have used Doodlebug papers and Bazzill card stock. The green panel has been embossed using a swiss dot embossing folder & the greeting is a Craftwork cards Christmas greeting. The holly is a QK die & the red dotty ribbon is from my ribbon stash. I finished off by adding red glitter glue to my holly berries and crystal glitter to the snow in my stamped image.

Lili Of The Valley Challenge

This is the first time I have entered this challenge as it is only the second one so is still quite new. You can find the challenge blog here. I love Lili Of The Valley products as they are bright and bold and have nice clean lines. The challenge was to use the following sketch for inspiration. This is my interpretation of the sketch.
I have used one of the Polar die cuts along with last years Daisy Bucket Christmas range of papers. I have matted the bear and Daisy Bucket paper onto the black bazzill
and stitched around the edges. (You may have noticed a distinct lack of sewing on projects recently that's because I went through a period of sewing machine rage, this happens every once in a while, my machine is very temperamental!) I have added a tab using a QK tab die and the phrase "brrrr" using Doodlebug mini rub on's. I then added the stitched black strip along the bottom along with a paper flower that was made with co-ordinating papers and finished with a black Doodlebug glitter brad.

Pink Christmas Cute Card Thursday & Papertake Weekly Challenge Card

I do appear to be doubling up a lot with the challenges these days, I think that there are so many to have a go at it it makes it easier this way! This card covers Cute Card Thursday & Papertake Weekly challenges. The brief for CCT was to make a project using a Christmas animal and PWC was to follow this sketch:I have used pink and green as colours for my card and I may have lost all hope of being knighted as I'm not sure Her Majesty would agree with the pink post box!
I have used a Penny Black stamp (SHOCK HORROR!) called "Royal Mail". I have added glitter for the snow detail and cut it into a circle using my nesties.
This is matted onto lime green and attached to a stripy pink panel that has green and pink Bazzill stripes going across the top with added gem detail, the greeting is another stamp from Penny Black.

I thought I would also share with you a paper saving top tip that I picked up during a scrapbooking class many moons ago. As you can see I have a large panel of green at the base of the card, if you cut the centre of this out then your card is less bulky and you have scraps of co-ordinating cardstock to complete the rest of your card. I hope this explains it better:

I'm sure most of you have seen this before but I like to share just in case you find it useful.

Penny Black Seasons and 2 Sketches 4 You Challenge Card

A double whammy for today! This card is for 2 different challenges! Penny Black Challenge this week was to complete a card for a season, my card represents winter, and the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge was to interpret the following sketch:- Here is my card, you may notice that a little distressing has occurred! Don't panic, I'm okay, although the scratchy bits are uneven which upsets me! I have used Penny Black stamp called " Xmouse Ornament!" when I got this I had pale blue and a snowflake embossing folder in mind but that's not quite how it turned out! I decided to pick out the colour from the mouse not the snowflake and am semi pleased with the result. I have used Basic Grey Christmas paper, an Imaginiase snowflake (matted on black and cut out.......too much time on my hands!) and a rub on greeting. The brad was just a plain blue one which I have added glitter to. Finally I have added some black gems to the corners. Fun was had by all last night, thanks to everyone who came and to Natalie for being such a fab demonstrator! Watch this space for some SU cards coming soon! Finally a special thank you to some V special friends......you know who you are......thank you for spoiling me! xxx

Pretty In Pink Saturday Sketch Challenge

This is my entry into the Saturday Sketchers Challenge , this is the sketch that we were given to work from : and here is my interpretation of the sketch (un twisted or altered today!) I loved making this as it reminded me of Neapolitan ice cream from start to finish....... I have used a Penny Black stamp called The Essentials, this is the first time I have used it and I think it can be one of my new favorites!

I have matted and layered the base of this card it using Pink Bazzill and Pebbles Inc Travel Dot. The Image is matted onto brown & pink Bazzill paper. The greeting is called "Friendship Circles" and is from a Stampin Up set. Finally the flowers are from my Prima baubles and the brads are Doodlebug sugar coated in Bon Bon.

Right I'm off now as I have a day of rest! My friend Natalie has just joined up to be a Stampin Up demonstrator and she is having her first party at my house tonight. I am really looking forward to it but know that I won't be able to enjoy it if I don't rest ALL day!
