Maltesers Cheesecake!

Morning campers, I hope that you all have lots of lovely things planned for this sunny, but chilly Tuesday! I am crafting this morning then off to work later! I am still playing catch up and I just had to show you my latest cheesecake, made using lots and lots of Maltesers! The good thing about this recipe is that there are not many calories as Maltesers are mostly air aren't they! Sorry for the poor quality pics, it was so so delicious though! Here is the recipe: Ingredients

Base

100g digestive biscuits 200g Maltesers 125g melted butter plus extra for buttering the mould

Topping

800g cream cheese 200ml sour cream 200g icing sugar Couple of drops of vanilla extract 100ml double cream 150g roughly crushed Maltesers+ extra whole ones to decorated the top if desired. 1x8inch spring form pan. Butter the mould with melted butter.

Method

Base: Whizz the base ingredients in a blender until they are like fine breadcrumbs. Pour this crumb mixture into a bowl and add the melted butter. Mix everything together then tip into the spring form pan. Press it down so it is level and compact with the back of a large spoon then put the tin in the fridge for a good 30 minutes to firm up.

Topping: Put the cream cheese, sour cream, icing sugar and vanilla in a bowl and beat together until combined. In another bowl whisk the double cream until to a medium peak. Pour the whipped cream in a bowl with the cream cheese, sour cream, icing sugar and vanilla and fold gently together. Add the crushed Maltesers and fold to combine.

Assemble: Take the tin containing the biscuit base from the fridge and tip the creamy mixture over the top of it. Spread it around to level and then bang the tin a couple of times on the work surface to make sure it touches the base mixture evenly and there are no gaps.

Place in the fridge for an hour or two to set. Once ready to serve, remove from the fridge and press the maltesers in to the topping if using.

Cut and serve.

Let me know if you give it a go....................

Be back tomorrow with some more Critmus cards!

Music Saves My Soul #5 - Song for Gramps

Thank you so much for all your lovely words about my Gramps, it has been more difficult losing him than I could ever have imagined, the funeral is next Wednesday and I think things will get a little easier for us all after that.

This weeks song is for my Gramps, this was one of his favorite songs. Whilst he was in hospital for 3 weeks everyday the hospital radio volunteers came to ask him if he would like a song played for him, every time he would ask for Dolly Partons 9 to 5. The funny thing was his radio didn't even work so he never even got to hear it, bless him. In the end it turned into a little joke and he would laugh whist asking for it. I bet the other patients who had a working radio were sick to death of hearing it LOL

So here you go Gramps, Dolly Partons 9 to 5.............

I am busy making the order of service so I may be missing in action for a while longer! Thanks again for your lovely comments.  xxx

Music Saves My Soul #4

It's that time of the week again for Marceas Music Saves My Soul. Pop over and peep at her blog and all the other songs that people have shared this week.

This week I have chosen a song that reminds me of my honeymoon in Miami, Orlando & Sarasota. It was played on the radio all the time whilst we were away and when we got back Mr Wonka got it for me so I could listen to it all the time. It is actually quite a sad song so it is quite odd that it gives me so many happy memories. That's hardly surprising though I think you all know I'm a bit odd by now though! LOL

I hope you like it.....................

Be back soon xxx

Super Simple Make & Take

Just when you thought I had  stopped with the retreat show and tells I found another couple to share with you!
This was my make and take that I made on the Sunday of the retreat, I have used a treat cup with water and glitter in to make a snowflake snow dome decoration (you could also use this as a rather fancy tag). I know I have said it before but I really do wish that I had a glitter setting on my camera as you really can't see how pretty this is.

Let me know if you would like to see how to make this, I am thinking of adding the odd tutorial to my blog and this may be a good place to start!

Marcea's Music Saves My Soul Saturday #2

Ages and ages ago my blogging buddy Marcea used to link to one of her fave songs every Saturday. Well she hasn't done it for ages and I used to really love seeing what she was choosing every week. She is now doing a "Music Saves My Soul Saturday" and I am going to try my hardest to join in. I appreciate that it is in fact Monday and not Saturday but I recon she will forgive me!

I warn you now, I have the most varied and odd music taste in the world!

My first song is by Emmas Imagination, she was the recent winner of "Must be the Music" she used to be a busker on the streets of Glasgow and writes all her own songs. This song has been going round my head for the last week! I love love love it!

Hope you liked it, I will be back Saturday with my next choice!

Retreat Christmas Class

The time has come for me to show you my final retreat class, I bet you feel like you have been there!!!! Hopefully Jill will do it all again next year and you can come and join in.

My last class was a quick and easy Christmas class, we made a little accordion wallet and a selection of Christmas cards.

I have used half a "Christmas Jingle" set from SU, I can't believe how much you can do with one of these kits! They are like magic, they go on and on and on!

Here are the six cards that we made, there was loads left for more and hopefully my ladies made some when they got home too.

Just to let you know that Gramps is doing okay, no change really, although he has had a fall in hospital (ANGRY ICON) I fully understand he can't be watched 100% of the time and I fully understand that the staff are rushed off their feet but it is still frustrating that this can happen!

I'll be back tomorrow with something a little different............
