Super Speedy "Ski Patrol" Saturday Challenge

It feels like forever since I managed to do a challenge, this card is for the Saturday Challenge and this is the sketch Sue has done to get all our mojo's going: The inside of the card (sorry I forgot to take a pic!) is a little wallet so I can pop some vouchers in for my friends daughter.

I have used Penny Black "Ski Patrol" this is the first time I have used this and am now in love with it! The papers are from My Minds Eye, I know, I know I have used it to death this Christmas! (don't panic I have nearly used it all now!) The tree die cut is also from MME and the greeting is by Making Memories.

Mrs Wonkas 1st PIF

I was lucky enough to win 2 PIF's recently (thanks Diane & Lisa) so in line with the PIF ethos here is my 1st in return. (I'll do another in a few weeks) It is mainly Doodlebug and includes, paper, card, Doodlebug Christmas stamped images, buttons, brads, flowers, frills etc etc etc I have 3 sets of these to give away. So if you would like one then just leave a comment on this post. I will not be showing any of the comments so there can be no cheeting! LOL Instead of the 1st three people to comment I will be giving these sets away to the 3rd,6th & 9th comment! If you have never heard of a PIF it stands for "Pay It Forward" which means if someone does a good deed or gives you something then you will also "Pay It Forward" to someone else at a later date. So If you are lucky enough to be 3rd, 6th or 9th please carry out a PIF on your blog when you get a chance. Good Luck !!!! & remember you have to be in it to win it! I'll be back later to let you know who gets the Doodlebug yummyness!

Basic Grey & Papertake Weekly Challenges

This is a double whammy today as there are now too many challenges and so little time!!!! I have used the super Dawny's sketch over at Papertake Weekly :-and for the Basic Grey challenge I have incorporated BG paper and embossing.

I have used "Laurel Leaves" paper from the Wassail collection and coordinating green Bazzill. The image is by Penny Black & is called "Christmas Spirit" I have coloured it using my watercolour pencils. I have added red stickles for the berries for a bit of dimension and sparkle! The embossed panel at the back is made using the Cuttlebug ornament embossing folder. Finally the greeting is a Pebbles Inc rub on.

Gingerbread House As You Have Never Seen Before!

Well I think the face says it all.......Auntie did try really hard to put his gingerbread house together, a couple of bits were broken when we got it out the box, so after carefully cementing them back together we decorated it beautifully. It all went wrong at construction stage! We finally patchworked it all together and ceremoniously placed the roof on when ......DISASTER we experienced a complete collapse situation! Kyle summed it up by announcing "it's more like a gingerbread bonfire really!" Never mind there's always a next time!!!!! I have finally finished my commission today!!! I'll post some sneak peeks tomorrow! So I can now get on with some more of my Christmas cards and challenges!

Isn't It Jolly...........

to jump out of bed & see the whole world white! My Mum used to say that when we were kids when it had snowed....... (actually it's not white any more as it is now raining and it's all gone!!) I have been so lucky to receive a nummy new award! I have received it from Diane, Marcia and Tabalisious! If you haven't blog hopped to them before then please do as they are all wonderful crafters! The wording that goes with this award is:- This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind blogger's aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers!Deliver this award to eight blogger's who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award. I am supposed to now pass this onto 8 people......but I have had a scoot around and most of the 8 I would have passed it onto have already got it.........DOH! So I am going to let anybody who would like an award today help themselves to it. Hope you all have a fab Sunday and are snuggly warm enjoying the winter weather from inside!

Cupcakes & Cards....What more can you ask for?

Well a fab evening was had by all last night, friends, crafting and cupcakes! Natalie held a Stampin Up "Stamp & Stick" evening at my house. Basically you make 12 quick & easy cards in an evening. Although I was flagging by the middle, and half asleep by the end! I did (with a little help from Nat) design these which I am really pleased with, they were done using the new SU Christmas stamp set. If you check out Nats blog over the next few days she will show you all the cards and give you all the info! It is quite rare for any gathering to occur at Mrs Wonkas without a cupcake for the occasion. As it was Christmas cards last night we had to have Christmas cupcakes to match! Complete with snowflakes and yummy sugar snow!I also removed all the calories using a magic syringe so you can eat 14 at a time if you so desire! (wouldn't that be fab!!!! when will the important science people invent such a thing?)

Told ya I'd be back!!!!!

Well I did get round to finishing off a card that I had started last week for the Friday Sketchers challenge. I will start by saying it was a FAB sketch but I was a bit bamboozled to start with....
in fact i can say that it actually really scared me!!!!!! I battled on though with my fave products to comfort me as I went!
I have used a PB stamp and all other products are Doodlebug.......apart from the mini gems at the top they are out of my scrumdidilyumptious gem box!

Arthurs return to the great outdoors!!!!!

As I am slaving over a 7 card commission that I can't show you!!!! (I wish I could as you might give me some inspiration!)I thought I would give you a little update on my furry Oompaloompas! Well Arthur went to the vet on Monday and he had lost just over a third of his body weight! The vet said he was a VERY lucky boy! She advised to feed him little and often and keep him in for a couple more days . Well we were petrified to let him out of our sight as you can imagine! So yesterday afternoon I thought he could have a little wander round the garden for some fresh air! He had a little look: and decided he would stay in for a while longer! Bless him....... so more cuddles and we'll try again later!

Now Olive........ you know the cat that joined in the FIND ARTHUR campaign and looked for him nearly every minute of the day well...........she HATES him! I think she had decided that she was enjoying life on her own and judging by her reaction I wouldn't be surprised if it was her that locked him in the shed! LOL So hopefully in a week or two they will be back to normal! I thought you would like this final installment on O & A but better turn this blog back into my crafting factory not a cat one! So hopefully I can post a new creation later!

A Mrs Wonka Double Whammy!

This covers 2 challenges today......I really love to do one card per challenge but there are so many I want to have a go at sometimes you just gotta double up! This is for Cute Card Thursday "Red & Green" challenge and I have used the Sketch Saturday for my inspiration.
I'm really bashing out the Christmas cards now so here's another one for the box!
I have used a PB image called "Royal Mail" (I think???) and my new doodlebug Christmas papers. The brads and gems are Doodlebug as is the glitter holly leaf on the bottom left. The greeting is Pebbles inc.

Simply Fairies Sketch By The Fandabulous Kimmy!

Last week Kim decided that she was going to do weekly sketches on her blog Simply Fairies I would have loved to have joined in last week but things were a little hectic (due to the magical disappearing cat!!!!) So this week I really wanted to play along. This is Kims sketch: & here is a little mousy card I have made using her super trooper sketch for my inspiration! I know it's super simple but I kinda like the simplicity of it. (I always feel weird saying If I like something I've done!!!) I have used a penny black "Xmouse Ornament" stamp and the "We wish you a merry Christmas" is from PB as well. The glitter paper and card are both from DCWV stacks that were supplied by my Mum! The snowflake is Imaginise and I have popped it onto a Prima flower......I wasn't sure about this but I think it still looks wintery as apposed to flowery!

Thanks again for all your lovely messages....Arthur is doing very well after winning the "West Sussex Cat Hide & Seek Championship!!!".....VERY clingy and a little sneezy so I will have to see what the vet thinks about that! Olive on the other hand is very upset he is home!!!!!!! She is not talking to him and hiding behind the sofa! In fact I would go as far as to say it may well have been her that locked him in somewhere!!!!!LOL I think she has enjoyed having ALL the attention and is a little fed up that it will be shared again.......Naughty Olive!

***Arthur Update***

Well would you Adam & Eve it after 12 days and 11 nights Arthur has come home! He is very very skinny and dehydrated but other than that fine. He has obviously been locked in some where as he is dirty and smells of shed??? (I'm not quite sure what shed smells like but you get what I mean!) We are over the moon as we were starting to give up hope a little. He has had lots of water and we are giving him food little and often and he'll be having a little visit to the vets tomorrow just to be on the safe side! Thank you so much for all your lovely messages , i really really really have appreciated every single one of them! xxx

Mr Snowman! My Time To Craft Challenge

This weeks challenge at My Time To Craft was to create a project incorporating snowmen.....or snow-women of course!

I have used some more of the "My Minds Eye" papers and the snowman and tall tree are from the co-ordinating die cut sheet. The triangle trees are just embossed green triangles & the flourish is QK. To finish off I have added some glitter glue to the snow!

Before I go i wanted to show you this picture of little Kyle, as you all know it was his birthday last week and his birthday treat was to have a racing car party with two other friends who were turning 4 that week. Him and his little friends went round the track in the little carts and loved every second of it. He wore his racing driver outfit and spent just as much time waving at his Mum and Dad than driving the go-cart (or racing car as Kyle would call it!) This picture was taken after he received his "Safe Driver" certificate and "Best Driver" Trophy. Do you think he was pleased with himself? Couldn't you just eat him..........

SHOCK HORROR! Magnolia Card.......Friday Sketchers Challenge!

Well nothing like leaving it to the last minute!! This is my entry for the Friday Sketchers challenge. We had to use the following sketch for inspiration.......

The shock horror is because you are witnessing my 1st ever Magnolia creation! This image was sent to me in a pif (thanks again lisa x). I vowed NEVER to go down the Magnolia road..........words like Freaky faces, moomin heads and monster trolls may have even passed my lips concerning them........ (please don't hit me or banish me from blog land!) but actually I am starting to warm to them. Don't get me wrong I adore the creations that some of my fellow bloggers create but its always hard to turn a Penny Black girl!!!! So all that said, my confession over with....... I actually really enjoyed making this although the colouring leaves a lot to be desired....I can only colour animals!!!! LOL

I have used my "My minds eye" papers and an assortment of Doodlebug and Prima blooms. The frill is Doodlebug and the greeting is by Making Memories.

Lili Of The Valley Challenge Card

Ever since I received my Kimi & Miki prize I have been so excited to used them! So today I have used them for the Lili Of The Valley challenge sketch which was created by Donalda. (fab sketch Donalda!!!) As you can see this is another one for my Christmas card pile, I don't often use blue so this has made a nice change for me!All of the papers are Lili Of The Valley backing papers and of course the die cut Miki is also Lili Of The Valley. The snowflake brads are by Papermania and the larger snowflake is by Imaginise. I have used my sewing machine for the stitching and my machine has now been thrown head first back in the cupboard as it was being very naughty today!!!! So I'll pretend I was going for the patchworkie wonky effect then I might just get away with it!!! The greeting is by Craftwork cards and the little snowballs are from the die cut sheet.

Finally there is still no news on Arthur, I'm not going to put this at the bottom any more as I find it upsetting and I am trying to make my cards and blog as an escape from the real world! You will all be one of the first to know if I have any further news on him. xxx

Happy Christmas Gramps! Papertake Weekly Challenge

I am in keep myself busy mode so thought I would make a start on my special Christmas cards, you know Hubby, Mum, Dad etc etc The first is for Gramps he is 487 well okay not that old but he is 94 and so a special card is in order! I have used this fanfabbytastic 2nd sketch from Dawny at Papertake Weekly I love the simplicity of it......it's so me! I have used a very special Penny Black stamp called "Especially for You" I saw this ages ago and tried to get hold of it but couldn't then I kinda forgot all about it! Then I saw it at the weekend whilst having a quick visit to a crafting club that is run by some friends of mine. To cut a long (and personal) story short I am now the proud owner of the stamp and it will always remain extra special! Thanks girls xxx

I have coloured it in using my water colour pencils and have added some glitter touches to the wrapping paper and the berries! I have used Doodlebug mini rub ons to add "Gramps" to the tag and have punched out holly for the corners. So a super simple one but I am really pleased with the result.

Still nothing to report xxx

A Woofy Saturday Challenge Card

This is a card I have made for my next door neighbours daughter who's birthday it is next week. To make this card I have used a sketch from Saturday Challenge for my inspiration: As you can see it is doggy related as she loves them! I have used a Lili Of The Valley dog die cut and have cut the trim off, moulded it a little and adhered it to the circle using silicone glue. I have made my squares using brown & pink Bazzill and some Doodlebug paw paper. The greeting was printed out and I have added some pink ems to highlight. Finally there is still no news xxx

They Say No News Is Good News!

It was Kyle's Birthday yesterday and he had a little Halloween party for his friends....he loves anything spooky! Being the super Auntie I am I made him some ghostie meringues (just meringues with some ghostie faces on them) and some spooky cupcakes!
Still no news on Arthur.......all the local papers come out over the next couple of days with adverts in so hopefully that may lead him home! I'll keep you posted with any developments. I'm going to make some cards later!(yes really!!!)

A Birthday Card For A Very Special Boy!

No news on Arthur I'm afraid, thank you so much for all your kind messages though, I really really appreciate them all. As you can see Olive has joined the "FIND ARTHUR" campaign trail and is merrily creasing all my leaflets! She is normally an independent little cat but is missing her brother so is staying right by my side!
I had to find my mojo today as it is my Nephews birthday tomorrow and he would be expecting a handmade card from Auntie. I used this sketch from the Sketch Saturday Challenge:
and an ever trusty Penny Black image from my friend Treacle!

As you can see Kyle is 4 tomorrow, I have used foam "Thickers" for his name and American Craft rub ons for the "4" and Doodlebug rub ons for the "today". The rest of the products are all Doodlebug. Apart from the arrow which was cut using a QK Revolution die.

The card holds an in joke for Kyle & I .......I often play silly games with Kyle and he loves Aunties "rude" words.....these really aren't all that rude but he loves it if we are being naughty! One of the little songs I sing him is one that we used to sing at school, it goes "Ma's out, Pa's out, lets talk rude.......Pee po belly bum drawers!" So when I saw this little cat in his boxers (they could actually be shorts but they look like boxers to me!) I thought perfect so I have added the "Rude" words and added a little arrow to his drawers.......

I hope he likes it, he will be more interested in his presents really......but who wouldn't be at 4!

I will keep you all updated with any news on little Arthur, we are all truly lost without him.

Arthur is Missing...So no creations

No offerings from me as all I have been making for a couple of days is missing posters and leaflets as my cat Arthur has been missing since Wednesday lunch time. Now little Arthur is only 2 and doesn't play out at night or go wondering for too long. As you can imagine we are so upset and are going mad trying to find him. His little sister is looking out of the window for hours on end and it is just heartbreaking to watch. We have done posters, leaflets, knocked door to door, rang the vets, put posters in the vets, logged it with RSPCA, Cat org & cat protection?????? I'm not sure what else we can do. Thankfully he is chipped and tagged and he hasn't been hit by a car...(according to the council!) So we just have to plod on with my hubby leafleting and putting up posters further afield and hope he comes home.
He went missing when he was only just 1 and was locked in a shed for 8 days, the guy had been in and out of his shed during that time but Arthur was too scared to come out!
So if you could please send out lots of "Come home Arthur" vibes I would appreciate it and I will keep you updated.

Just a Quickie!!! Penny Black Saturday Challenge Card

This weeks Penny Black challenge was "Get Sparkly - Bonfire Night" well I didn't have any fireworkish stamps so decided to go sparkly! This is super simple....I have cut out the trees from a sheet of "My Minds Eye" Christmas paper and added them onto a piece of Swimming Pool Doodlebug sugarcoated card stock (that was a mouth full!), I then backed that onto some bubblegum card stock. I finally added a pink strip across the bottom and attached my Penny Black greeting onto some more sugarcoated card!

I Love Your Blog Award......

I just wanted to say thank you to Crafting Diva for this award I received yesterday. I know that this award business can be a bit time consuming but it is so lovely to know that people enjoy what we create and enjoy the fact that we love to share it with other like minded people.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge....Pink, Brown & White Sketch!

Well this weeks challenge at the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge was to create a card using Pink, Brown & White as if this wasn't tricky enough for me (I struggle with that colour combination for some reason!) you also had to use this sketch for inspiration: For some reason I really struggled with doing 2 things at once....it was like that whole pat your head and rub your tummy or was it rub your head and pat you tummy???????? I think you get the gist...... Here is my card: I have used the Penny Black "Merry Kitty" stamp and the Stampin Up words stamp from the 2008 Christmas set. I have coloured the kitty in with watercolour pencils and glittered the bauble using pink & silver. The Christmas words was stamped on brown using a pink chalk in and then I have added glitter accents to it as well.

I have then used white sugar coated Doodlebug card for the bottom panel and secured the brown strip with cupcake sugarcoated brads. I then drew a pink glitter line all around the card (you can't really see this in the pic!) Finally I added a white greeting rub on and a glitter swirl!

Lili Of The Valley and Fridays Sketchers Challenge

Well a double up for me today, this ticks the box as a Christmas card for the super wonderful smashing super fandabulously wonderwonkerful Lili of The Valley challenge (can you tell I won last week! LOL) and I have used this Friday Sketchers challenge sketch for inspiration: I have sliced into yet more of my new Doodlebug papers for this one.....ohhhh it makes you sweat doesn't it cutting into things that we just want to look at and stroke! I have a new mantra though and it seems to be working "I will cut and use the 4 billion pieces of paper in my craft room that I'm saving because they're favorites....I will cut and use the 4 billion pieces of paper in my craft room that I'm saving because they're favorites...." try it, it works for a while.......LOL I know that most of you will be the same! I have used a LOTV die cut reindeer and my new argyle Christmas paper. The scallop is done with a Doodlebug glitter trim and the greeting is by Craftwork cards. Finally the scroll/flourish is a QK die which I have built up to make bigger and added red gems to the ends to highlight. . This was one of the cards that I wasn't quite sure where it was going but it seemed to pull together in the end!

I'm So Excited.......& I Just Can't Hide It......

..............i'm about to loose control and I think I like it!!!!!!!!!!! I have just seen that I was this weeks winner of the FANDABULOUS Moonlight stamps over at Papertake Weekly . Thank you so much I love the stamps and can't wait to play with them! I recon it was Dawny's 1st sketch that brought me luck so here's a Mrs Wonka thank you for Papertake Weekly, Moonlight Stamps and Dawny! Any other blog readers are welcome to a chunk as well.............

Sketch Saturday Challenge.....Using My NEW Doodlebug Papers

I have had my new Doodlebug papers for over a week now and this is the first chance I have had to play with them so please forgive all the excitement. This is for the Sketch Saturday challenge and here is the inspirational sketch by Coco:-
And here is my first go with my NEW doodlebug papers and embellishments......did I mention that already??????

I have used the holly flock paper and red card for the circles and the holly swirl is one of the new glitter stickers.....yum yum! The snowman is from one of the older Christmas sticker sheets and the dotty Christmas circle is a new stamp called "Christmas Cheer" from lil Stamps. I finished off with some red ribbon and some glaze pen dots.

I really have my Christmas head on at the moment so look out for some new cards using the new Christmas Doodlebug boutique trims, glitter strips and boutique brads over the next few days.

Super Duper Papertake Weekly Dawny Sketch

This challenge card was really exciting as it is Dawny's first sketch over at Papertake Weekly . I have followed Dawny for a long time and love her work so I was really pleased to see that she will be doing the sketches from now on. Although I share every ones sadness that Katharina will no longer be part of the PW team!I think you will all agree that she has done a fandabbiedozie job! I was really looking forward to giving this one a go.
This card is for a very good friend of mine who is older than me......of which I often remind her! LOL it has been a long running joke for the last 18 years so I like to carry it on at every opportunity....her birthday in a couple of weeks being one of them!
I love love love this Penny Black stamp and flying pigs were very appropriate for this card! I have used DCWV paper and glitter card and have used Basic Grey sticker alphabets mixed with Pebbles rub ons for the greeting. The flowers are Prima and the sideways moustache {{{ (I can never remember what they are called!) is from Basic grey and I have painted and glittered it to match the pigs and backing paper.

Introducing Frankenstein..........

I was "Trick or Treated" at half past 10 yesterday morning by Frankenstein......... I thought I would share with you the picture as I think that my nephew is the best Frankenstein ever!!! (couldn't you just eat him........) There may be a few more pics over the next week or so as so far he has this outfit, a mummy, a spider, a ghost and Dracula! So be prepared for a massive overkill of proud Auntie pictures! ohhhhhh and I didn't make the PB design team..... but thank you for all your lovely comments. I'll just have to try again next time........:)
