Whilst Sheppards Wash Their Socks At Night.........

............do you remember singing those silly words. We used to think it's hilarious as did my nephew Kyle this year along with "Jingle Bells Batman smells" and "when Santa got stuck up the chimney" Christmas is all over now as we prepare for the new year so I thought I would share this last Christmas picture with you. This is when Kyle was a Sheppard ( a dog carrying Sheppard) in his nativity. I'm surprised that we haven't had calls from any London agents he was that good.......well in his Aunties eyes obviously! I have also received this lovely award from the wonderful Hev, thank you. I now have to tell you 5 addictions, it took me a while to think about this one. I finally came up with 5
  1. Cadburys Wispa
  2. Lindt Reindeer's
  3. Chocolate Orange (one of the important 5 a day!)
  4. Maltesers
  5. Orange Matchmakers (where did they disappear to? I'm so pleased they are back in my life!)

I now have to pass it on to 5 people, I have had a root around and I have been so slow most people have received it already! So I award it to any fellow chocolate munching crafters!

Papercraft Essentials Issue 37

I thought you would like to see my cards that were commissioned for Issue 37 of Papercraft Essentials. I am really excited about this as I haven't done any magazine work for ages! When I first heard that I would be doing Jolly Nation decoupage I was a little wary as they really weren't my thing........not a craft snobbery thing....just that I enjoy stamping more. Well I have had to eat my hat as I really enjoyed making these and I feel that I still managed to put the Mrs Wonka twist on them!

There is also a sneak peak in the back of the mag of my commission for next month which was love themed with Forever Friends so I will show and tell as soon as the mag is out!

P.s See the little teddy cards on the front of the mag, these are by the super trooper Kim go check out her blog he is sooooooo talented!

The Rest Of Christmas

Well Christmas morning we have our stockings.....mine was full of smellies and some mini stamps, coloured pens, sweeties, sellotape (I love sellotape another little addiction of mine!) hair bobbles....just lots of bits and bobs. Then it's downstairs for the biggies........lol I did already have my main prezzie which was a Cricut Expression which I got for a bargain amount of spondoolie off a blogging buddy a couple of weeks ago.Mr W did try and make me wait till Christmas YEAH RIGHT!!!! I was then surprised with lots of lovely thoughtful gifts from Mr W including loads of cupcake making books and gadgets so keep your eyes peeled for cupcake creations over the next few weeks! We then popped to see my nephew for an hour. He was so excited but such a good boy. Here is a pic of when he was a king in his nativity, it was a great beard but rather interfered with his singing LOL! Then it was homeward bound for me & Mr W where he cooked a beautiful Christmas dinner for the two of us and we pretty much chilled for the rest of the day. Mum & Dad came for tea and then we watched the rather poor Christmas TV (apart from The Royal Family)and went to bed! (oh how I roared at the royal family, Oh how Mr W roared at the royal family as he firmly believed that I would have found that a perfectly acceptable Christmas dinner! LOL )
Boxing day was spent with family and friends came to visit yesterday so all in all a wonderful time was had by all! I did get a few crafty prezzies apart from my Expression from my fabby crafty buds...I also got some fabby non crafty goodies from my crafty buds so a massive thank you to you all !
Yummy Stampin up Christmas scrapbook kit

The beautiful new Penny Black clear stamps

Ohhhhh a Mrs Wonka favorite......Doodlebug
Better than Doodlebug........MORE Doodlebug!
Scrumdiddilyumptious Stampin Up All In The Family Set
So all in all a super trooper Christmas! I hope that you all had a wonderful time and that you are all now recovering nicely! Do pop back tomorrow as I have something VERY exciting to show you!

A Wonka Christmas........Christmas Eve

I thought you would like to see a couple of pics of a Wonka Christmas! It is only me & Mr Wonka and the cats so all quite chilled! I love Christmas Eve! Every year Mr Wonka arranges for an arrangement of flowers to be delivered so they will look nice on my Christmas table. I think he went a little OTT this year as the arrangement is as big as the table!

Mr Wonka then comes home form work and makes sausage rolls and mince pies.....yum yum the house then smells of Christmas! We then like to pop all the presents under the tree, now this is my favorite bit of Christmas, sitting in a darkened room only lit by Christmas lights, with the gifts all under the tree (in matching wrapping paper! I know I know I really must get out more! I think it's the crafter in me!) munching on roses and quality street (well all my faves that I have sneaked out into my little Christmas bowl! LOL)

After I feel thoroughly sick and it's time to go to bed Mr Wonka produces some new PJ's (so I'm smart for Santa! LOL) and it's up the apple and pears and into uncle ned!

Pink Christmas!

This is a card that I made using an image that was sent to me in a pif by the lovely pink sunflower . It is a Spiral Whisper image called "Milly On a Yule Log" This is a classic example of an image I would never have looked at twice but now I have used it I have fallen in love with it! So thank you diane for making me go outside my normal craft box! The papers I have used are from the lovely Marcia, she sent them along with some beautiful FF images, thanks Marcia. I have just added an imaginese snowflake and a papermania flocked snowflake to finish it off. Sorry about the wonky photo.............not sure what happened there! I think I have managed to unwonk it a little........

Crafty Christmas Poem

I have just been blog hopping and I have found this hilarious poem. I spotted it on A Crafty Spot thank you so much Shirley for sharing.
Twas the night before Christmas, I'm glued to the tree.
I'm wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or chipboard or lace? "
Or a Cricut," I said, with a smile on my face.
And that's when I heard him, "Hi Santa!" I said.
"You know....good little girls should be in their beds."
"I know I should Santa, and now I've got caught.
But I was just so excited to see what you brought."
"Well, let's take a look in this room where you work."
He shook his head quickly, and left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear...
"You've got enough crap, I'll see you next year!"

About time for a card me thinks!!!!!

Well you will never guess what???? I only have a card to show you......I know I know I have been super slack recently!I made it for one of my favoritist friends who is Elzybell mad!!!! I know I have said this before but the 1st camera to install glitter vision I'm having it as I wish you could see how super twinkly this is in real life! I have used some daisy bucket paper and a Bazzill chip & chip topper. The swirl is a sticker off the Doodlebug cat card stock stickers and originally had a ball of wool on one end of it!!!! I snipped it and twisted it and am quite pleased with the result.

Christmas Tin

Just a quicky today as I thought you would like to see one of my Christmas tins that I decorated. I did take some pics of the others but they were blurry so only the one for show and tell I'm afraid. The nativity was fab.....he was a fine sheppard! Foxy was left at home and he took a dog instead!?!?!? I will pop some pics up when I have a moment!

Oh no another week has gone by!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry for my infrequent blog posts at the moment. I am plodding through the Christmas preparations at a remarkably slow pace so crafting has had to take a back seat for a while. I just wanted to show you this though, I found it in my craft room this morning all stamped, coloured & glittered ready to pop on a card shame I found it after all my cards are made!!!!!
She's cute isn't she....she is by Elzybells and I received her on a card last year from the marvelously super talented Suzie Q and I just had to have it........
and if this isn't cute enough look at the little poem stamp that goes with it!

I really laughed when I read this, not just because it was cute but because I probably would have done something similar as a child.

Well I went to see my Nephew in his nativity yesterday. I asked him last week who he was in the play and he said he was "one of the three blind men"??? LOL I did point out that he meant wise.......... he gets his brains from our side of the family.....there is no hope for him. He is a sheppard today at his other nursery complete with furry fox?(he didn't have a sheep so decided his fox would be fine?) I will post pics later.

Don't Panic......I'm still alive!!!!

I'm so sorry that I haven't entered blog land for nearly a week.....I am up to my eyes in it at the moment and those that know me know that everything takes 10 times longer for me to achieve!!! I thought you would like to see my Christmas card from my Nephew, we had a little card making session on Monday and I do believe he has quite a creative streak.

He made 6 in total all for his special people......he decided he didn't want to do writing in Auntie & Uncles so he drew us instead here I am:-

I appear a little ghost like.....I do LOVE the way he has captured my big mouth.......... Here is Uncle Wonka......

He has even remembered his glasses........bless him.

That is as creative as I have got the past week but I do need to bash a couple of cards out before the weekend so I may be back later! TTFN x

Poo Poo & More Poo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I have been surrounded in poo today, not just any poo but snowman and reindeer poo!!!! A friend of mine helps out at a dog rescue centre and they are having a Christmas sale on Saturday (they aren't selling the dogs just stuff to raise money for them! lol) Unfortunately I'm not well enough to go so I have made a few of these for her to take and sell. I have seen versions of these on loads of blogs and forums but i have made up my own little rhyme "I picked this special gift for you, a little bag of reindeer poo" I think they have turned out okay, I'm sure they will be pleased with them. I could have made a few more if the raisins hadn't been calling me from the bags....shouting "EAT ME!"

The snowman and reindeer are Qk dies (thanks Treacle) and I have printed the greeting out from the puter. The bags are 11 x 11cm card bags and the I have just used coloured staples to secure the toppers.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT REAL POO NO SNOWMEN OR REINDEERS WERE HARMED OR SQUEEZED IN THE MAKING OF THESE CHRISTMAS GIFTS

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.......

I thought you would like to see a tin I have decorated for a friends Christmas present (well to house a friends Christmas present....I'm not sure she would have just wanted a tin?) I have done 4 of these all in different styles and have really enjoyed making them (I'm normally an altered no go area!) I have used Basic Grey Wassail papers and am really pleased with the bow as this is the 1st time I have attempted to make one, ok I lie this is the second time as the first one was a few weeks ago and went so badly wrong it was sworn at, screwed up, stamped on & binned ( a little harsh I know but i was very frustrated!)

Super Speedy "Ski Patrol" Saturday Challenge

It feels like forever since I managed to do a challenge, this card is for the Saturday Challenge and this is the sketch Sue has done to get all our mojo's going: The inside of the card (sorry I forgot to take a pic!) is a little wallet so I can pop some vouchers in for my friends daughter.

I have used Penny Black "Ski Patrol" this is the first time I have used this and am now in love with it! The papers are from My Minds Eye, I know, I know I have used it to death this Christmas! (don't panic I have nearly used it all now!) The tree die cut is also from MME and the greeting is by Making Memories.

Mrs Wonkas 1st PIF

I was lucky enough to win 2 PIF's recently (thanks Diane & Lisa) so in line with the PIF ethos here is my 1st in return. (I'll do another in a few weeks) It is mainly Doodlebug and includes, paper, card, Doodlebug Christmas stamped images, buttons, brads, flowers, frills etc etc etc I have 3 sets of these to give away. So if you would like one then just leave a comment on this post. I will not be showing any of the comments so there can be no cheeting! LOL Instead of the 1st three people to comment I will be giving these sets away to the 3rd,6th & 9th comment! If you have never heard of a PIF it stands for "Pay It Forward" which means if someone does a good deed or gives you something then you will also "Pay It Forward" to someone else at a later date. So If you are lucky enough to be 3rd, 6th or 9th please carry out a PIF on your blog when you get a chance. Good Luck !!!! & remember you have to be in it to win it! I'll be back later to let you know who gets the Doodlebug yummyness!

Basic Grey & Papertake Weekly Challenges

This is a double whammy today as there are now too many challenges and so little time!!!! I have used the super Dawny's sketch over at Papertake Weekly :-and for the Basic Grey challenge I have incorporated BG paper and embossing.

I have used "Laurel Leaves" paper from the Wassail collection and coordinating green Bazzill. The image is by Penny Black & is called "Christmas Spirit" I have coloured it using my watercolour pencils. I have added red stickles for the berries for a bit of dimension and sparkle! The embossed panel at the back is made using the Cuttlebug ornament embossing folder. Finally the greeting is a Pebbles Inc rub on.

Gingerbread House As You Have Never Seen Before!

Well I think the face says it all.......Auntie did try really hard to put his gingerbread house together, a couple of bits were broken when we got it out the box, so after carefully cementing them back together we decorated it beautifully. It all went wrong at construction stage! We finally patchworked it all together and ceremoniously placed the roof on when ......DISASTER we experienced a complete collapse situation! Kyle summed it up by announcing "it's more like a gingerbread bonfire really!" Never mind there's always a next time!!!!! I have finally finished my commission today!!! I'll post some sneak peeks tomorrow! So I can now get on with some more of my Christmas cards and challenges!

Isn't It Jolly...........

to jump out of bed & see the whole world white! My Mum used to say that when we were kids when it had snowed....... (actually it's not white any more as it is now raining and it's all gone!!) I have been so lucky to receive a nummy new award! I have received it from Diane, Marcia and Tabalisious! If you haven't blog hopped to them before then please do as they are all wonderful crafters! The wording that goes with this award is:- This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind blogger's aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers!Deliver this award to eight blogger's who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award. I am supposed to now pass this onto 8 people......but I have had a scoot around and most of the 8 I would have passed it onto have already got it.........DOH! So I am going to let anybody who would like an award today help themselves to it. Hope you all have a fab Sunday and are snuggly warm enjoying the winter weather from inside!

Cupcakes & Cards....What more can you ask for?

Well a fab evening was had by all last night, friends, crafting and cupcakes! Natalie held a Stampin Up "Stamp & Stick" evening at my house. Basically you make 12 quick & easy cards in an evening. Although I was flagging by the middle, and half asleep by the end! I did (with a little help from Nat) design these which I am really pleased with, they were done using the new SU Christmas stamp set. If you check out Nats blog over the next few days she will show you all the cards and give you all the info! It is quite rare for any gathering to occur at Mrs Wonkas without a cupcake for the occasion. As it was Christmas cards last night we had to have Christmas cupcakes to match! Complete with snowflakes and yummy sugar snow!I also removed all the calories using a magic syringe so you can eat 14 at a time if you so desire! (wouldn't that be fab!!!! when will the important science people invent such a thing?)

Told ya I'd be back!!!!!

Well I did get round to finishing off a card that I had started last week for the Friday Sketchers challenge. I will start by saying it was a FAB sketch but I was a bit bamboozled to start with....
in fact i can say that it actually really scared me!!!!!! I battled on though with my fave products to comfort me as I went!
I have used a PB stamp and all other products are Doodlebug.......apart from the mini gems at the top they are out of my scrumdidilyumptious gem box!

Arthurs return to the great outdoors!!!!!

As I am slaving over a 7 card commission that I can't show you!!!! (I wish I could as you might give me some inspiration!)I thought I would give you a little update on my furry Oompaloompas! Well Arthur went to the vet on Monday and he had lost just over a third of his body weight! The vet said he was a VERY lucky boy! She advised to feed him little and often and keep him in for a couple more days . Well we were petrified to let him out of our sight as you can imagine! So yesterday afternoon I thought he could have a little wander round the garden for some fresh air! He had a little look: and decided he would stay in for a while longer! Bless him....... so more cuddles and we'll try again later!

Now Olive........ you know the cat that joined in the FIND ARTHUR campaign and looked for him nearly every minute of the day well...........she HATES him! I think she had decided that she was enjoying life on her own and judging by her reaction I wouldn't be surprised if it was her that locked him in the shed! LOL So hopefully in a week or two they will be back to normal! I thought you would like this final installment on O & A but better turn this blog back into my crafting factory not a cat one! So hopefully I can post a new creation later!

A Mrs Wonka Double Whammy!

This covers 2 challenges today......I really love to do one card per challenge but there are so many I want to have a go at sometimes you just gotta double up! This is for Cute Card Thursday "Red & Green" challenge and I have used the Sketch Saturday for my inspiration.
I'm really bashing out the Christmas cards now so here's another one for the box!
I have used a PB image called "Royal Mail" (I think???) and my new doodlebug Christmas papers. The brads and gems are Doodlebug as is the glitter holly leaf on the bottom left. The greeting is Pebbles inc.

Simply Fairies Sketch By The Fandabulous Kimmy!

Last week Kim decided that she was going to do weekly sketches on her blog Simply Fairies I would have loved to have joined in last week but things were a little hectic (due to the magical disappearing cat!!!!) So this week I really wanted to play along. This is Kims sketch: & here is a little mousy card I have made using her super trooper sketch for my inspiration! I know it's super simple but I kinda like the simplicity of it. (I always feel weird saying If I like something I've done!!!) I have used a penny black "Xmouse Ornament" stamp and the "We wish you a merry Christmas" is from PB as well. The glitter paper and card are both from DCWV stacks that were supplied by my Mum! The snowflake is Imaginise and I have popped it onto a Prima flower......I wasn't sure about this but I think it still looks wintery as apposed to flowery!

Thanks again for all your lovely messages....Arthur is doing very well after winning the "West Sussex Cat Hide & Seek Championship!!!".....VERY clingy and a little sneezy so I will have to see what the vet thinks about that! Olive on the other hand is very upset he is home!!!!!!! She is not talking to him and hiding behind the sofa! In fact I would go as far as to say it may well have been her that locked him in somewhere!!!!!LOL I think she has enjoyed having ALL the attention and is a little fed up that it will be shared again.......Naughty Olive!

***Arthur Update***

Well would you Adam & Eve it after 12 days and 11 nights Arthur has come home! He is very very skinny and dehydrated but other than that fine. He has obviously been locked in some where as he is dirty and smells of shed??? (I'm not quite sure what shed smells like but you get what I mean!) We are over the moon as we were starting to give up hope a little. He has had lots of water and we are giving him food little and often and he'll be having a little visit to the vets tomorrow just to be on the safe side! Thank you so much for all your lovely messages , i really really really have appreciated every single one of them! xxx

Mr Snowman! My Time To Craft Challenge

This weeks challenge at My Time To Craft was to create a project incorporating snowmen.....or snow-women of course!

I have used some more of the "My Minds Eye" papers and the snowman and tall tree are from the co-ordinating die cut sheet. The triangle trees are just embossed green triangles & the flourish is QK. To finish off I have added some glitter glue to the snow!

Before I go i wanted to show you this picture of little Kyle, as you all know it was his birthday last week and his birthday treat was to have a racing car party with two other friends who were turning 4 that week. Him and his little friends went round the track in the little carts and loved every second of it. He wore his racing driver outfit and spent just as much time waving at his Mum and Dad than driving the go-cart (or racing car as Kyle would call it!) This picture was taken after he received his "Safe Driver" certificate and "Best Driver" Trophy. Do you think he was pleased with himself? Couldn't you just eat him..........

SHOCK HORROR! Magnolia Card.......Friday Sketchers Challenge!

Well nothing like leaving it to the last minute!! This is my entry for the Friday Sketchers challenge. We had to use the following sketch for inspiration.......

The shock horror is because you are witnessing my 1st ever Magnolia creation! This image was sent to me in a pif (thanks again lisa x). I vowed NEVER to go down the Magnolia road..........words like Freaky faces, moomin heads and monster trolls may have even passed my lips concerning them........ (please don't hit me or banish me from blog land!) but actually I am starting to warm to them. Don't get me wrong I adore the creations that some of my fellow bloggers create but its always hard to turn a Penny Black girl!!!! So all that said, my confession over with....... I actually really enjoyed making this although the colouring leaves a lot to be desired....I can only colour animals!!!! LOL

I have used my "My minds eye" papers and an assortment of Doodlebug and Prima blooms. The frill is Doodlebug and the greeting is by Making Memories.
