Super Simple Make & Take

Just when you thought I had  stopped with the retreat show and tells I found another couple to share with you!
This was my make and take that I made on the Sunday of the retreat, I have used a treat cup with water and glitter in to make a snowflake snow dome decoration (you could also use this as a rather fancy tag). I know I have said it before but I really do wish that I had a glitter setting on my camera as you really can't see how pretty this is.

Let me know if you would like to see how to make this, I am thinking of adding the odd tutorial to my blog and this may be a good place to start!

Marcea's Music Saves My Soul Saturday #2

Ages and ages ago my blogging buddy Marcea used to link to one of her fave songs every Saturday. Well she hasn't done it for ages and I used to really love seeing what she was choosing every week. She is now doing a "Music Saves My Soul Saturday" and I am going to try my hardest to join in. I appreciate that it is in fact Monday and not Saturday but I recon she will forgive me!

I warn you now, I have the most varied and odd music taste in the world!

My first song is by Emmas Imagination, she was the recent winner of "Must be the Music" she used to be a busker on the streets of Glasgow and writes all her own songs. This song has been going round my head for the last week! I love love love it!

Hope you liked it, I will be back Saturday with my next choice!

Retreat Christmas Class

The time has come for me to show you my final retreat class, I bet you feel like you have been there!!!! Hopefully Jill will do it all again next year and you can come and join in.

My last class was a quick and easy Christmas class, we made a little accordion wallet and a selection of Christmas cards.

I have used half a "Christmas Jingle" set from SU, I can't believe how much you can do with one of these kits! They are like magic, they go on and on and on!

Here are the six cards that we made, there was loads left for more and hopefully my ladies made some when they got home too.

Just to let you know that Gramps is doing okay, no change really, although he has had a fall in hospital (ANGRY ICON) I fully understand he can't be watched 100% of the time and I fully understand that the staff are rushed off their feet but it is still frustrating that this can happen!

I'll be back tomorrow with something a little different............

Retreat Butterfly Class

"Good morning, good morning, how the devil are you, good morning, good morning to you!" My Mum used to sing that to me every morning! Which after a night on the town was the worst thing that I could be woken up to!

This is my butterfly class from the retreat.

You may think that you have seen these cards before, that's because you have as they are from the Flight Of the Butterfly article I completed for Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine.

I love this colour combo and have used it over and over again, this will be the last time I will be able to use it though as these papers will be discontinued at the end of the month. Thankfully the stamps will still be available!!!
I will be back tomorrow with my last class.

No change with Gramps not any better and not any worse so that's a good thing!

Retreat Chocolate Class

Good morning bloggers, here is another one of my classes that I taught at the weekend. This class came with a little bag of chocolates each but I have forgotten to take a pic of them! DOH!

I have used chocolate chip DSP papers and the "Rose is a Rose" stamp set which is only available for another seven days!
I have used Pink Passion and Rose red inks for the blooms and Always Artichoke and Certainly Celery for the leaves. I just love this two step stamping technique!
Thank you for your kind comments about Gramps, he is still in hospital having tests, he perked up a little last night but still has a way to go!

See you soon xxx

Retreat Cupcake Class

Good morning bloggers, I will have to keep this short but sweet, this is the first class that I taught at the retreat, it was on the Friday afternoon and I was so nervous meeting new people and hoping that they liked what we were making. I shouldn't have worried as all the ladies were lovely and everyone seemed to like the cards too! although I shouldn't have confessed that I was intending to take cupcakes as there was a bit of a revolt when they didn't appear! LOL unfortunately the oven blew up a couple of days before and I'm not sure about cooking cupcakes in the microwave. I have used the Crazy for Cupcake stamp set and teamed it with some papers from the soon to be retired "Sunny Days" simply scrappin' kit. I am running around like a headless chicken at the moment, not only have I not yet fully recovered from the weekend but my Gramps has been taken into hospital after collapsing at home on Monday. He is 96 and has done so well up to now, so please keep everything crossed for him! I'll be back soon with my next retreat class!

Retreat badge

One of the things to make it easier for everyone to get to know each other at the retreat was to make and wear a seaside themed badge, here's mine:

then on Sunday they were then all popped on a table and everyone voted for their faveorite one. I forgot to include mine though, although I wouldn't have got very far there were some real crackers!

I have used a Stampin' Up! treat cup and a retired stamp set.

I'll pop back tomorrow and show you the first of my classes.

Cardinal Colour Retreat

I thought I would share a few pics of the retreat, this is the hotel that we stayed in: doesn't it look regal......this is the view from outside the front: this is the entrance,
and this is the lift, how cool is that? Although it did catch my false nails on a couple of occasions......lol
this is my friend, Simon the seagull, he lived outside my window.
this is the one and only "Lovely Lorna"
and here is a selection of my new crafty buddies......
As you can see it was a FABULOUS location, filled with FABULOUS people! We certainly had a blast. I had a few more pics of my new buddies but feel I would have been disowned if I had posted them!!!!
I will be popping back over the next few days to share with you my seaside name badge, make and take and classes.
See you soon xxx

I forgot to show you................

Well I have survived my weekend of teaching at the Cardinal Colours retreat, I had such a great weekend and have met some wonderful ladies and made some new friends. Thanks Jill for inviting me....... I have got the day off today with Mr Wonka to recover, I will come back tomorrow and share some pics with you. I have just realised that you never had a peep at my make and take from the Gatwick Stamping day, I made reindeer food: I got some porridge oats (59p from Tesco BARGAIN!) and added some glitter and filled my bag up, then stamped a "Dasher" in chocolate chip ink and cut it out using a circle nestie. I then covered the whole thing in heat and stick and glitter and added it to a chocolate chip scalloped circle. I finished it off with some green ribbon and a little poem on the back, which read:
Sprinkle on the lawn at night
The moon will make it sparkle bright
As Santas reindeer fly and roam
This will guide them to your home.
I will give mine to Kyle to put out on Christmas eve, give it a go, kids will love it!

Birthday Cake & Yankee Candle Heaven!!!!!!

I know I was supposed to show you some of my cards today but I really wanted to show you the birthday cake that my Dad made for me for my birthday tea party.

The cake had one vanilla and one chocolate sponge, It was supposed to be a neopolitan cake but the pink layer was a little runny, even the birds wouldn't eat it apparently! LOL It took him all day to make and I thought he made a wonderful job of it. (although all the chocolate fingers fell off when I took off the ribbon!)

I also got taken out yesterday by Mum & Dad for my birthday treat, a trip to the Yankee Candle shop in Worthing, where I got one of my favorite candles, Vanilla Cupcake

If you love candles and cupcakes I recommend you get this one, it makes the whole house smell of cake! YUM YUM. Then we had a little wander around "The Range" a couple of crafty bits may have fallen in my basket...........and when I thought the day couldn't get any better we had a gourmet chips out the bag, which I always think taste better at the seaside!

I think that concludes my FAB birthday and leaves me feeling very blessed to have such a wonderful husband, family and friends.

I will definitely be back tomorrow and show and tell my crafty cards! xxx

It's my BIRTHDAY! So it has to be a Cupcake post..........

I know I said that I would show and tell my second class today but there has been a change of plan as I thought that cupcakes would be more birthday appropriate. These are some cakes that I made for my Grampas 96th birthday party. He does love a cupcake!

They are vanilla sponge with chocolate and vanilla swirl frosting! It is the first time that I have mixed frostings and I was really pleased with the results! The little cupcake toppers were got at the greatest cake shop in the world in Romford. I need to get my mits on some more, they really looked cute! Hope I have tantalised your taste buds enough for one day, can't stop as today is MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! and I am off out with Mr Wonka for the day! I will pop back tomorrow with my second class and then later in the week to show you some beautiful handmade cards that I have received.

Gatwick Stamping Day - One Week On!

Well you may have guessed that I have not won the National and I am not on an around the world cruise.........although a wonderful night was had by all! Thanks to everyone who came for making it such a FAB evening! I did promise to pop back and show you close ups of my projects from last weeks stamping day. This is a tri-fold album that I made: The actual construction of the album was designed by Andrea Walford but the decoration is all my own. This is how it looks opened up? I love how it has come out and although it looks complicated it is probably one of the easiest that she has designed. I'm off out for birthday lunch (a day early) with friends today , I am such a kid when it comes to birthdays, well my birthday LOL. I will report back tomorrow and show you my other class from the stamping day and sing to myself! See you tomorrow when it will be "BIRTHDAY ME" LOL
