A little snippit of the SWU retreat

As promised I'm back today with a few basic cards that I taught at the Stamp With Us retreat. These cards were 3 little extras that were made at the end of a scrapbook class, these cards and the layout were all made using half of Stampin' Up! "I Wish" scrapbook kit. These kits seem to go on forever and are such brilliant value for money! I hope you like them and I will be back tomorrow with this weeks Stamp With Us challenge card.

Lego cakes

I had my nephew for a couple of hours yesterday and we decided that we were going to make Lego miner cakes, complete with miners and rock monsters!!!! The sponge was green and the icing grey and here are the results........
This is a Lego miner complete with diamonds
This is a rock monster who steals the diamonds from the mines.......
This is a fight between the miners and the rock monsters
I hope you appreciate that I had to kneel in an ants nest next to the only rock in the garden to take these pictures as the little man insisted that Lego miner cakes can only have there pictures taken on rocks! So I really really hope that you like them........ See you soon with a couple of cards that I made for the Stamp With Us retreat.

I have used SU set "A rose is a rose" this is a 2 step stamp set and doesn't look all that in the catalogue but it really comes to life when you use it and has now come to be one of my favorite sets. Fathers Day Card

I only just realised that I forgot to show you the fathers day card that I made for my Dad. I have used a kraft card blank teamed with SU Spiced Cider papers. The circle embellishment is a sticker from the "I Wish" Simply Scrappin' kit layered onto a scalloped circle then a larger black circle. I have finished it off with some buttons and a brad and of course a little bit of doodling. Dad really liked it so I hope you do to.

Arthur and his new moustache!

Imagine my suprise last week when Arthur came home with a moustache! Do you think he had his nose somewhere that he shouldn't have? This is a reminder of how he normally looks: and this is how he came home the other evening with his new look............... It is just wearing off now, it was like ink and it has really stained his little nose! Do you think he has learned a lesson.......I don't think so!

Stamp With Us Colour Challenge

This is my card for this weeks Stamp With Us colour challenge. I picked the inspirational picture this week so I'm not sure why I found it so hard! I have used "Taken With Teal" and "Regal Rose" card stock and embossed a section of "Whisper White" with my paisley embossing folder. The heart has been inked in "Regal Rose" ink and raised up using dimensionals. I finished it off with some glitter on the paisley background. Show Tea Towels............

You may or may not know that I am partial to a show tea towel or two. Look at these beauties that were given to me by a fandanbbidozie crafting budster the other night at our SU card class.

I am in love with them and they carry a very important message.......

"EAT DESSERT FIRST"

This is something I have done for years and I am so pleased that my new tea towels confirm that I have been right to do so all along!

Friday Sketcher Challenge

This is my entry to this weeks Friday Sketchers challenge, I appreciate I am yet again cutting it a little fine but I like to live life on the edge.........

This is using one of my new Great Impressions stamps, I brought 2 a while ago and have been waiting for a special occasion to ink them up. I have used Kraft card for my card blank and some paw paper from my stash. I have coloured in the cheeky cat with watercolour pencils and the greeting is an SU stamp.

This cat reminds me of my Arthur, although the bird would be in his mouth and not on his head! He is being a very wicked pixie at the moment and has been bringing in lots of little presents for us, I managed to save the frog but the bird and mouse didn't make it! NAUGHTY BOY!

Perfect Picnic!

I thought you would like to have a peek at the perfect picnic that my nephew hosted on Monday lunchtime, he made all the sarnies, popped sausages on sticks, and sausage rolls on sticks, and scotch eggs on sticks (he liked the sticks lol) made fairy cakes and decorated them too! He then layed the table with a party napkin each. I think you will all agree it is a perfect picnic, shame we all sat shivering whilst we ate it!

Stamp With Us Colour Challenge

Firstly thank you so much for all the lovely comments I have received for my Elzybells cards, I really appreciate every one of them! Right onto this weeks SWU challenge. This week it is a colour challenge and this is my card. I have used Bashful Blue card for the blank and have teamed it with Summer Picnic papers and Pumpkin Pie card to create this "Get Well Soon" card . I have used a stamp from the "Fun & Fastnotes" set. This is a brilliant all round set so if you are thinking of entering into the world of SU (it is a dangerous world to enter!) then this is a great one to start out with. I made the card for a friend of mine who is very poorly at the moment, hopefully this will cheer her up a bit!
